Welcome to My Blog: Fashion Trough a PR Lense
Fashion is more than just clothing. It is a form of self-expression, a way to communicate identity and a powerful industry shaped by creativity, culture and media. My goal with this blog is to explore fashion from a perspective that goes beyond the trends and looks we see every day by focusing on the public relations side of the fashion industry.
As a junior at Mount St. Joseph University majoring in Liberal Arts English, with minors in Communications and New Media Studies and Creative Writing, I have developed a strong interest in writing, storytelling and communication. My academic experience has helped me understand how important effective communication is when connecting organizations, brands and audiences. I want to bring these skills together with my passion for fashion to explore how PR helps fashion brands build their identities and connect with consumers.

Throughout this blog, I will discuss topics such as fashion branding, social media, influencer and creator relationships, consumerism, media relations, and fashion trends. I am especially interested in how fashion brands use storytelling and digital media to create a recognizable identity and build relationships with their audiences.
My love for fashion has also made me interested in the way personal style can communicate who we are. I enjoy expressing myself through what I wear, while also finding inspiration in music, nature and the world around me. These interests have shaped the way I see fashion—not simply as something we wear, but as another creative outlet for telling a story.
“Fashion is more than just what we wear—it can be a powerful creative outlet for expressing our individuality and identity" (Escobar 2024). Read more about fashion and self-expression in this article from Quo Vadis.” Read the article: “Fashion Continues to Serve as an Outlet for Self-Expression”
While I am still developing my experience in the PR and fashion industries, my background in English, communications and creative writing has given me a foundation for exploring these topics. Through this blog, I hope to continue learning, researching and sharing my perspective while discovering more about the relationship between fashion, PR and self-expression.
Whether you are interested in fashion, public relations, social media or simply the stories behind the brands we see every day, I hope you’ll follow along as I look at the fashion industry through a different lens.
